Overview:

Due to our continued expansion we arerecruiting for a HR Administrator. The HR Administrator role is designed tosupport the transport HR Advisor in various administrative tasks essential forthe smooth functioning of HR operations. This includes assisting in theonboarding process, managing probation reviews, handling leaver processes, andresponding to HR inquiries. By efficiently managing administrative duties, theHR Admin enables the HR Advisor to focus on strategic initiatives and providingeffective HR support to employees and management. This role presents an idealopportunity for individuals looking to embark on their HR journey, providingvaluable hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of HRadministration and operations.

Location: Wakefield site.

Shift Pattern: 20 hours (4 days a week).

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the smooth onboarding process for newemployees, using our Cornerstone HR system, verifying right to work documentation,updating relevant systems with right to work information, and ensuringHealth & Safety are informed of new starters.
  • Assist in the management of probationary periods,including notifying managers of upcoming reviews and tracking probationprogress.
  • Prepare and distribute probation outcome lettersto employees upon completion of probationary periods.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in the Cornerstonesystem.
  • Handle reference requests for both employment andfinancial purposes using standardised templates.
  • Oversee the entire leaver process, ensuring allnecessary steps are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate and execute mail merge projects forvarious HR communications.
  • Serve as the first point of contact forHR-related inquiries and provide initial assistance or escalate asnecessary.
  • Manage contract and information requests incompliance with GDPR regulations.
  • Guide managers by directing them to relevantforms, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
  • Generate and compile monthly/weekly reports fromvarious sources, including forms and the Employee Relations (ER) tracker.
  • Facilitate the process of obtaining referencesfor current or former employees as required.
  • Support the implementation of the NewCold AcademyProject, ensuring engagement and participation from all employees.
  • Act as a note-taker during meetings whennecessary to document discussions and decisions accurately.
  • Assist with recruitment activities, includingposting job requisitions, collaborating with managers to identifyrecruitment needs, and relaying information to the HR Advisor for furtheraction.
  • Support the payroll team where necessary.

Requirements:

  • A driven individual seeking a career in HR
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word with database administration.
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • High level of attention to detail in order to prepare documents.
  • Capable of acting as point of reference/contact for enquiries.
