Financial Analyst - Ports & Terminals - Europe
Job Description
About the Role
We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join our team based out of our UK head office, located on Palace Street in central London. The purpose of the role is to provide professional support and critical financial analysis to the Portfolio performance Director in capacity as finance lead for the Ports & Terminals pillar, to ensure that processes are run smoothly, and accurate information is provided to and from the Regional Finance function.
How you will contribute
Review the financial results of businesses provided by the P&T team members including production of the regional monthly report; upon receipt of the monthly flash reports and debtors ageing analysis, review and critique offering important commentary and highlighting key variances to the PP lead and the P&T COO
Prepare and present the monthly results overview to PP lead and P&T COO highlighting trends, issues and progressing actions to aid business improvement, including analysis of major KPIs.
Analyse information provided and generate meaningful commentary
Play a role in the preparation and development of the regional business 10yr plan / 3yr budgets including: -
Analysing business units' plans / budgets.
Supporting with the presentation of any key messages to region LT and HO
Proactively assist multi-disciplinary teams undertaking ad hoc financial analysis.
Business partnering with European business units in the analysis of their management reporting including benchmarking, alternative P&Ls etc.
Ensure all businesses adhere with financial governance and control; maintain accuracy and timeliness with all processes.
Proactively support the business units to improve the impact of finance and reporting across the region.
What you will bring
Experience in a management function within the accounting / finance area.
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Exceptional listener. You communicate clearly. You write exceptionally well and you speak eloquently. You can explain just about anything to anyone. You're comfortable on the phone or to groups of people - at any level. You are incredibly tactful when delivering the facts.

You are ready to travel between 10-30% of the time across the region to our operations to perform tasks / activities on site.
