The Sustainability Lead will take a leading role in the integration and delivery of our sustainability strategy across our UK Direct investments, working particularly closely with our teams and clients based in the UK. To this end, you will collaborate with the Sustainability Lead for Contintental Europe Direct Investments as well as our EMEA based Technical Directors and Sustainability Ambassadors. The role will be essential in supporting the implementation of the Firm's Global Sustainability Vision at the portfolio and asset level in this key region.
The Global Sustainability team is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the Firm's performance against various sustainability objectives, delivering sustainability projects, and enabling the Firm to make progress against its targets. The team aims to bring positive change in our three sustainability pillars that underpin our Sustainability Vision - Climate, People, and Influence. As a Sustainability Lead, no day in the office will be the same. A successful applicant should be comfortable wearing multiple hats and possess both technical data analysis skills as well as good oral presentation and communication skills. The role will require strong project management and commercial skills in addition to sustainability technical experience to support in the implementation of our Vision and to navigate the fast changing sustainability market in the UK/EU. Programme/Project Management of UK Direct sustainability workstreams
Support Fund Teams with annual ESG data collection
Co-ordinate the preparation of the annual/quarterly sustainability section within investor reports
Support in the development of new sustainability investment opportunities
Support the implementation of sustainability strategy at both portfolio and asset level
Attend and contribute to sustainability workshops at both portfolio and asset level
Horizon scan to help keep CBRE Investment Management as a leader in sustainability
Identify and scope new sustainability workstreams, including running tenders/appointing sustainability consultants
Work closely with appointed UK technical director, sustainability ambassadors, consultants and vendors alike, that support the delivery of our programme
QA and direction for Sustainability Tool Development/Reporting

Excellent organisation and time management skills - ability to prioritise and coordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
Fluency in English (additional language is a considered a plus), and strong visual and oral communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and confident in speaking to senior (internal/external) stakeholders
Problem solver able to troubleshoot a wide range of sustainability challenges as and when they arise
Undergraduate degree or above in sustainable development, climate change or related STEM subject
~8+ years' experience in ESG/Sustainability; preferably in finance or real assets sector, technical understanding of the built environment;
~ Project/programme management experience
~ Commercial experience, e.g. establishing scope of works, handling supplier contracts, setting up ESG frameworks, managing suppliers etc
~ Familiarity and interest in sustainability frameworks, building certifications and third-party guidelines (GRI, TCFD, SASB, UN SDG, PRI, BREEAM, LEED etc)
~ Working knowledge of and experience in the real asset industry

Strong analytical, systems-thinking, problem-solving, and data management skills
