Diversity & Inclusion Manager, EMEA (Vice President)
The purpose of the Diversity & Inclusion Manager is to lead key initiatives aligned to the overall D&I Strategy for EMEA. This includes embedding D&I into key processes across the employee lifecycle, leading the relationship with EMEA’s Employee Resource Groups (DRIVE) and partnering with specific departments/countries to drive change across the organisation. It is anticipated the role holder will travel to EMEA locations on a regular basis.
The Diversity and Inclusion team is responsible for partnering with the organisation to deliver against our D&I aspirations including increasing representation of under-represented groups, hearing from a diverse range of voices to reduce the risk of group think and building an inclusive culture. This strategy has supported the Bank in making significant progress in increasing representation of women at senior levels, reducing its gender pay gap and looking specifically at other aspects of diversity and the different challenges experienced by different groups. Business leaders in SMBC Group EMEA
Human Resources including HR Business Partners, Global HR Department and/or D&I dept in Tokyo
Internal EMEA Committees e.g, Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee
DRIVE networks
External vendors and networking groups
Collaborate with other HR teams to evolve systems, policies and processes to make these more inclusive
Support Country HRDs and D&I Country Councils in implementing EMEA framework and best practices interventions, tailoring regional strategy for local resonance.
Manage relationships with our DRIVE networks
Drive the delivery of our EMEA D&I strategy across the organisation.
Using data and evidence-based practice to inform your work, design and lead interventions, programmes or working groups to enable the delivery of the D&I strategy including measurement of impact.
Be a trusted subject matter expert on factors that influence diversity and inclusion and act as an advisor to HR colleagues and the wider organization where expertise on diversity and inclusion is required.
Be a critical partner for nominated departments and branches for D&I and work closely with their HRBP/HRD/Country Council to drive development and implementation of meaningful departmental/local D&I plans.
Manage the relationship between the D&I team and each of the organisation’s DRIVE Networks to ensure alignment of network activities, and to coach DRIVE leaders to enhance network impact.
Collaborate with the Culture VP to ensure organisational development initiatives align with our culture aspirations and support the embedding of a diverse and inclusive culture across EMEA
Support the development and implementation of other employee engagement initiatives focusing on inclusion, belonging and psychological safety.
Extensive experience in driving diversity and an inclusive culture in a corporate organisation working on a global or regional scale, preferably in regulated environment.
Excellent knowledge of diversity and inclusion principles and evidence-based best practices
Ability to use data to generate insights and frame action
Passion for creating and fostering a positive work environment that promotes inclusion, collaboration, psychological safety and a sense of belonging.
