The Advanced Therapy Treatment Centres (ATTC) Network Programme is a groundbreaking initiative, creating a system of Advanced Therapy Treatment Centres within the NHS framework, coordinated by CGT Catapult. This network addresses the unique challenges of introducing pioneering Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) to patients. The network has been operational for approximately five years and has secured funding for an additional 4.5 years. The overarching objective is to expand and fully integrate the network into the NHS and establish the UK as a primary site for clinical trials of ATMPs.

The Director of ATTC Network Coordination is pivotal to the network's success, holding high visibility both within the CGT Catapult and throughout the UK. The Director of ATTC Network Coordination will be passionate about contributing to the sustainable growth of the Advanced Therapy Sector in the UK and eager to play a central role in expanding the UK's delivery of ATMP clinical trials and the introduction of new therapies into clinical practice. Supported by a small team of ATMP specialists, the Director of ATTC Network Coordination will oversee the coordination of CGT Catapult's role and drive the attractiveness of the NHS for clinical trials and the adoption of ATMPs.

Key Accountabilities:

Central Coordination of the Network

  • Collaborating with industry and the NHS to plan transformative projects, securing collaborations with the network, and developing an exit strategy for a seamless handover to the NHS.
  • Advancing initiatives related to accelerating clinical trials in the UK, enhance NHS knowledge on the delivery of ATMPs, accelerate adoption of ATMPs by the NHS, and engage and inform patients and the public on the use of ATMPs.

Best Practices and Standards

  • Coordinating with relevant bodies and stakeholders to develop standards and best practices for ATMP clinical trial execution and implementation.

Overall Program Management

  • Overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of the ATTC Network, adherence to budgets, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.

Other

  • Ensure the ATTC Network establishes a model of excellence for ATMP trial delivery and follow-up.
  • Establish an internationally recognised clinical trial network for ATMPs.
  • Expand the number of ATTCs and ensure the legacy of the ATTC Network.
  • Maximise the success of the ATTC Network through industry and stakeholder interactions.
  • Manage resources effectively to meet project expectations.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with Collaborators and stakeholders.
  • Accelerate the adoption of ATMPs in the UK.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and meeting milestones.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in establishing and managing clinical trial acceleration schemes.
  • Proven track record of consistently delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading similar high-profile projects in biotech, biopharma CMO, CRO, clinical trials, or the NHS sector, with interdisciplinary teamwork experience.
  • Highly motivated, pragmatic and practical to support the mission of the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult to accelerate the development of a commercial cell and gene-based therapy industry in the UK.
  • Desire to establish a high-profile career within cell and gene sector and the personal drive to help push the sector to be a commercial success.
  • Knowledge of National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) or equivalent networks.
  • Highly motivated, self-sufficient and capable of managing a complex and demanding program.
  • Broad scientific and commercial technical expertise for problem-solving.
  • Strong networking, influencing, and leadership skills including strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, to work independently and to be able to take the initiative when completing tasks.
  • Results-oriented with a personal drive to advance the adoption of disruptive technologies in the NHS.
  • High level interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and build rapport and trust.

  • Willingness to travel.

Education / Qualifications:

  • Higher degree or equivalent employment experience within the clinical trial / advanced therapy / NHS sector.
