We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our expanding team of Voluntary Carbon Market Specialists. You will leverage your experience in the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) to drive sales and identify investment opportunities with existing and new key clients. This role involves a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and collaboration with various teams. Opening up new regions, new relationships and new products.

Essential functions of the job:

  • Collaborate with key clients to identify and capitalize on voluntary carbon investment opportunities
  • Network with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders and generate leads by actively participating in industry conferences, events, and forums
  • Keep abreast of market trends and industry development including Article 6, compliance markets allowing for carbon projects, and compliance markets like CORSIA
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, competitors, and emerging opportunities for voluntary carbon
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their evolving needs and ensuring satisfaction with the provided solutions
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the sales process
  • Work closely and collaborate with business development, marketing, sales traders, risk, and investment teams to align investments with client needs and market trends
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure and improve the effectiveness of the sales process

Skills required:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a sales-focused voluntary carbon market-related role
  • Proven experience in identifying and securing voluntary carbon investment and trading opportunities with key clients
  • Demonstrating strong knowledge of VCM, Emissions Trading Schemes, and compliance markets like CORSIA and for compliance markets allowing for carbon projects
  • Independent thinker with a proactive approach to developing solutions and opportunities.
  • Negotiating commercial agreements with clients and experience in speaking with (institutional) investors
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, progress negotiations, and close deals
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Environmental /technical background is preferable

Education required:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Finance degree combined with Environmental/Energy/Sustainability degree is a plus.
