It is an integral role within the MDT and the post holder is a part of the leadership team and someone who helps to think about team wellbeing.
It is a really interesting time to be in Early Intervention and this team is aligned with two other teams, in Devon, to think about ways in which we understand and respond to national drivers for improving the way that we work.
There are senior clinicians in the team who also provide leadership and there are specialist roles that enable us to support people who use our services to find ways to improve their lives.
They are keen to stay updated around research, here and in other countries, and to find ways to innovate and create to meet local need.
There are experienced team members who you will work with and a group of psychological therapists who are keen to support each other, to create a sustainable and enjoyable work/life balance.
You will be supervised by a senior lead who wants to find the best in you and enable you to develop at your own pace and find ways that you can make a mark on the service.
We are focused on developing the psychological model, inline with national guidelines and aiming to create change that makes accessing the right kind of therapy, easier and quicker.
You will help to manage referrals and plan with colleagues, to make sure that their experience of recovery is well-planned and co-created.
You will deliver high quality therapy and provide supervision and support to other members of the team, who are trained and eager to deliver specific interventions.
We also work closely with family members, peers, employers and educational/training colleagues so this role enables you to utilise all your strengths and skills, across a wide range of settings.
We provide mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity services, as well as a range of specialist & secure services for the wider south west region & nationally. The principal purpose of the job is to improve the psychological health & wellbeing of people within the post holders specialist field of practice.
To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality psychological service in specialist field of practice, across identified locality area, as a key component of integrated mental health and wellbeing services across Devon Partnership NHS Trust.
Providing clinical leadership and supervision for less experienced staff, trainees and volunteers employed by or attached to the psychology service.
The post holder with receive regular professional and clinical supervision in accordance to Trust policy and to Professional Practice Guidelines set out by the British Psychological Society or appropriate designated Professional Body.
The post holder will be fully registered with the Health Professions Council as a condition of employment.
Qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (D.Psychol. or equivalent) and eligible for Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist Status in the British Psychological Society. Training in at least one NICE approved psychological therapy for psychosis (CBT or Family Work)

Further training or experience in Early Intervention approaches to serious mental health problems and working with young people.
Training in the provision of supervision.

Broad knowledge of specialist mental health services and of the services in the NHS where psychology and psychotherapy is commonly applied.
Extensive knowledge of the skills, practice and knowledge base of Clinical/Counselling Psychology.
Knowledge of the policy context of specialist psychological services within the NHS and of clinical leadership arrangements in this setting.
Experience of work in adult mental health services or agencies and work with people with severe and complex mental health difficulties.

Experience of working with Early Intervention in Psychosis services.
