Purpose of the role

As the Operations Director at NPG, based in Leeds, London or Manchester, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational framework that drives the efficiency and effectiveness of our property management and development activities. There will be a key focus on the expansion and strategic vision of NPG. Reporting to the Co-Founders, you will lead the department, implement robust processes, and ensure that all operational functions are aligned with the strategic goals of NPG. Your leadership will enhance operational performance, optimise resource utilisation, and support business growth. You will ensure compliance with industry regulations, maintain high standards of service delivery, and contribute to NPG's reputation for excellence in property management and development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with NPG’s business objectives, identifying opportunities for improvements and driving innovative solutions and expansion
  • Manage day-to-day operations across all departments, establishing policies, implementing changes, and ensuring compliance with property laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate overall company performance in property management and development, provide necessary reports to the Co-Founders, and assist in setting strategic plans.
  • Develop strategies to minimise losses, reduce operational costs, and increase employee productivity.
  • Understand budget development, analysis, and financial planning to increase revenue margins from property investments.
  • Oversee and manage key operational projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams to ensure high performance and engagement, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of efficient processes and workflows, monitor and evaluate operational processes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Optimise resource allocation and utilisation to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, developing and maintaining risk management policies and procedures.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor operational performance against targets.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Sales, Lettings, Marketing, HR and Finance, to ensure cohesive operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure the highest standards of service delivery, health and safety and customer satisfaction through quality control measures and regular audits.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and deliverables.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements to drive operational innovation.
  • Implement new technologies and systems to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a high-level operations leadership role, preferably in property management or real estate.
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, process optimisation, expansion and resource management.
  • Successful track record in leading high-performing teams and driving company growth.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, and a strategic thinker.
  • Proficient in operational and project management software, with knowledge of CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities.
  • Deep understanding of the real estate market and current trends.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Commitment to NPG's values and mission, with high integrity.
  • Willingness to travel between all offices including London, Leeds, and Manchester.
