Business Support Officer- Childrens Services Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Customer Service Advisor. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for service users, staff from partner organizations, and colleagues. Your main responsibility will be to determine how matters can be effectively progressed from the initial contact. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice to service users to help them access services from Children's Services and partner organizations.
  • Assist in the progress of work activities within specific projects and tasks delegated by the Team Manager, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the service.
  • Collate and prepare performance data related to service activities, including conducting case file audits to support the scrutiny of service performance.
  • Undertake specific service projects/tasks, such as investigation, identification, research, and information collation.
  • Handle a range of administrative work to support the service, including document drafting and preparation, minute-taking, preparing presentations, handling inquiries, and organizing meetings.
Generic Accountabilities:
  • Maintain personal and professional development through training activities and support staff in their development and training.
  • Undertake other duties, training, and/or work hours as reasonably required and consistent with the level of responsibility of the job.
  • Adhere to health and safety duties as outlined in the Directorate's Health and Safety Policy.
  • Carry out all duties in a manner that promotes equal opportunity, dignity, and respect for all employees and service users, in line with the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy.
Requirements:
  • Ability to handle emotionally challenging situations when working with vulnerable children, young people, and adults, with appropriate support provided.
  • Subject to an enhanced DBS check and relevant children and/or adults barred list(s) checks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
