Graduate Geo Environmental Engineer

Established in 2000, our client is a geo-environmental consultancy and contractor offering good scope for progression.

Their wealth of expertise encompasses the entire land development cycle, from initial planning issues through ground investigation to remediation design and delivery. In particular, the two principal consultants each have over twenty-five years of experience in identifying and addressing environmental and geotechnical ground hazards.

Their varied experience in the property industry means that we are also able to advise our clients about development implications, demolition constraints together with realistic and cost-effective remedial solutions.

Key skills/qualifications for this Geo-Environmental role:
  1. Degree qualified in Geology, Civil Engineering, or another relevant subject
  2. Ability to read and interpret Geological Maps
  3. Ability to write Phase 1 ground investigation reports
  4. Knowledge of writing Coal Mine Risk Assessment reports
  5. Willingness to work onsite digging trial pits and working with windowless sampling rigs
  6. Sample taking and logging from borehole cores
  7. Knowledge of current Monitoring regulations is desirable
  8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues
  9. Full UK driving licence
Key duties of this Geo-Environmental Engineering role:
  1. Assist with the production of materials management plans, method statements, risk assessments
  2. Working with site personnel to ensure projects are implemented safely
  3. Direct/supervise site activities such as excavations, drilling, etc
  4. Set up, operate and maintain soil and water treatment systems
  5. Grow a team in the Lake District with like-minded colleagues
  6. Carry out sampling, scheduling laboratory analysis and assessing results in compliance with the specification/strategy
  7. Assist with coordinating/appointing subcontractors
  8. Ongoing liaison with clients' representatives or third-party verification engineers
