NHS Head of Safeguarding - Children
A London NHS organisation are looking for a Children’s Head of Safeguarding to support their journey to providing the best possible care to their community.
The purpose of this role is to provide visible leadership to the team and implement the strategy and policies to ensure that all Children’s safeguarding needs across their services are met.
You will have an opportunity to make a difference by working as a highly specialised member of the team to develop safeguarding strategies and ensure they are embedded across their children’s services, with clear communication across their teams.
This role is both interesting and challenging as there’s a wide portfolio of settings within your remit, this ranges from developing and educating their clinical teams, providing visible leadership to their safeguarding team, advising on and ensuring the implementation of safeguarding systems across their wards and services. This role is highly important because it has the potential to improve the safeguarding of children in the local community.
To deliver this , we are looking for an interim who has worked in senior safeguarding roles, with proven team leadership skills, who is credible and able to engage at all levels across their children’s services as well as provide assurance to the executive team.

Experience
- Experience in a senior Children’s Safeguarding role.
- Ability to provide assurance for children’s safeguarding to the leadership team
- Leadership experience with an inclusive and collaborative style
- Experience gained within an acute provider setting
- Personality and ability to engage both clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels
RATE: £48.69 per hour, 4 – 5 days a week, 3 days on-site in London
LENGTH: 6 months
START: February / Early March 2024
