**About The Role**

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the School Improvement Team as a Safeguarding Advisor for Hounslow. In this role, you’ll primarily focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils in Hounslow schools, Elective Home Education (EHE) and Early Years settings, working closely with schools and education providers to promote effective safeguarding practices.You will have the opportunity to work across the borough with our schools and other services putting children at the heart of everything we do.

**About The Team You’ll Be Working In**

The School Improvement Team is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all children in Hounslow. We work collaboratively with schools, external agencies, and stakeholders to ensure that every child is protected from harm and has access to the support they need to thrive.

As a Safeguarding Advisor, you'll be an integral part of this team, contributing your expertise and insights to develop and implement strategies that enhance safeguarding measures across the education sector.

**About You**

We're looking for someone who:
1.Has a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and legislation, including Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines.

2.Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including school staff, parents, and external agencies.

3.Is proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team, with the initiative to identify and address safeguarding concerns proactively.

4.Has experience in providing support and guidance to education professionals, particularly Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), Senior Leadership Teams, and school governance.

5.Is committed to continuous learning and development in the field of safeguarding, staying updated on the latest trends, best practices, and legislative changes.

6.Shows a genuine passion for promoting the well-being and welfare of children, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable individuals and families.

1.An understanding of outcomes for pupils, leadership and management, quality of education, behaviour, and welfare in schools.

2.Experience of leadership and management (preferably in a school or LA).

3.Relevant and up-to-date knowledge of Safeguarding Legislation.

4.Excellent organisational, presenting/ training and communication skills.

5.Strong digital and IT skills.

6.An Enhanced DBS check is required.
