This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the Department’s day-to-day operations, working closely with the Director of Operations and divisional managers. The successful candidate will support a wide range of functions — including general administration, HR coordination, finance and research support, communications, and event management . Key Responsibilities Provide proactive administrative and diary support to senior departmental leaders. Manage departmental systems and processes including stationery, suppliers, ICT access, and absence tracking. Coordinate HR-related activities such as recruitment logistics, onboarding, probation tracking, and staff record management. Support financial administration: processing invoices, journal entries, and recharges. Maintain and update internal communication channels, handbooks, and web pages. Assist with departmental events, meetings, and ad hoc projects. Ensure compliance with institutional policies and contribute to process improvements. About You The ideal candidate will be a professional, adaptable administrator who can work independently while supporting multiple priorities. You will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence working with staff at all levels. Essential Criteria Proven experience in administration within a busy environment Strong organisational and multitasking skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Competence with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint) Ability to handle confidential information with discretion A collaborative and proactive approach Desirable Experience in higher education or research administration Familiarity with HR and finance systems (e.g. Oracle, TeamSeer) Experience maintaining digital content (SharePoint or websites) Why Apply?
