Epilepsy Specialist Nurse role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to continue to develop the Epilepsy Nursing Service for patients with Epilepsy within Lincolnshire based in the Neurology Department at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The Epilepsy nurse team are looking at new and innovative ways to provide a patient centred approach for all adult epilepsy patients and to bring together all stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to epilepsy care in the new integrated care system.
Our Board have recently agreed a new vision statement - Outstanding Care Personally Delivered - stating their ambition for our Trust to be among the best.
We also have a five year Integrated Improvement Plan setting out how we will achieve our strategic objectives, for patients, services, people and partners, the last recognising that our future success depends on our ability to ensure the Lincolnshire healthcare system is successful in achieving its ambition to help people live healthier lives and provide care closer to where people live.
Our latest CQC report increased our ratings for being effective and well-led from 'Requires Improvement' to 'Good'. Our rating for caring remained as 'Good'.

- Registered Practitioner
- Formal teaching and mentorship qualification
- Degree or equivalent
- Independent prescriber
- History taking and physical assessment course/ module
- Counselling skills
- Recent experience within acute care environments with relevant specialty experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Evidence of ability to measure and evaluate outcomes of the team
- A significant contribution to practice and service development
- Experience of independent clinical decision making
- Post registration experience
- Relevant neurological experience
- Experience of working in the area of Epilepsy Audit experience
- Able to provide advice and display effective decision making skills
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills, able to motivate and inspire others
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Positive and enthusiastic
- Adaptable and flexible
- Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework
- Must be able to present information logically and concisely
- Ability to support the evaluation of specialist Epilepsy and Non-Epilepsy care
- Ability to move between sites
