Are you looking to kickstart an exciting career in advanced manufacturing and engineering? If so, our RME (Reliability, Maintenance and Engineering) Mechatronics Apprenticeship could be the perfect opportunity for you. As an RME Mechatronics Apprentice, you will develop a diverse skillset spanning electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines.
Installation, testing and commissioning of new automated equipment
• Planned and preventative maintenance activities
• This is a hands-on role that requires you to apply your knowledge and skills across multiple engineering disciplines. Electrical, electronic and control systems
• Mechanical engineering principles
• Safe working practices and maintenance procedures
Throughout the apprenticeship program, you will work towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering (Mechatronics Maintenance), gaining both practical, on-the-job experience and earning industry-recognized qualifications. Year 1 is full-time residential (classroom) training at one of our training provider facilities. As a result, you may be required to work away from home Monday to Friday each week during term time (costs will be supported by Amazon), combined with short periods working at one of our operations warehouses. Subsequent years will comprise day or block release training at a specialist college where you will study for an HNC in Engineering/Mechatronics, and on-the-job training in a Fulfilment/Sortation Centre or Delivery Station among our team of technicians and engineers.
Over the course of the apprenticeship you can expect to achieve the following qualifications:
• Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) for apprentices in England and Wales
• Performing Engineering Operations (SCQF level 5) in Scotland
• Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in England and Wales
• HNC in either Mechatronics or Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical engineering in England and Wales
• Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard (England and Wales)
• Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering (Scotland)
On completion of the apprenticeship, graduates will have the necessary qualifications to obtain Eng. To be successful in this role, you should have a genuine passion for engineering and technology, good problem-solving abilities, and the motivation to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
We advise you to submit your application as soon as possible, as the roles will close once filled. We will be holding online assessments from November through to February, with assessment centers taking place between February and May. Apply today to join our Mechatronics Apprenticeship program

• You are a UK national, or a non UK national with the right to work in the UK, or an EU national and have settled status in the UK, and have lived in the UK or an EEA, or British overseas territory for 3 years or more prior to commencing the apprenticeship (September 2025)
• You will be 18 years old or older before entering an Amazon building (September 2025)
• Maths, English and a science/technology subject
Note: If you already have a higher degree, or are studying towards a higher degree, in the same field or a related one, you will not be eligible to this apprenticeship.
