We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team in Ayrshire.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety management within the housing sector and possess relevant IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications. The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and compliance with relevant legislation.

Key Requirements of the Role
  1. Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with industry standards and legislation.
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  3. Provide guidance and support to staff on health and safety matters, ensuring a culture of safety is promoted throughout the organization.
  4. Deliver health and safety training and inductions to employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  5. Monitor and review health and safety performance, producing reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  6. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root causes are identified and appropriate actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
  7. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  8. Collaborate with external agencies, such as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), to stay informed of regulatory changes and best practices.
  9. Manage and maintain health and safety documentation, records, and databases.
  10. Support the implementation of health and safety initiatives and campaigns to enhance awareness and engagement across the organization.
Experience/ Qualifications Required
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or higher-level IOSH qualification.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety management role within the affordable housing sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and health and safety management software.
