An exciting opportunity to coordinate and enhance the competitive bid submission process within a growing Australian defence technology company. 

About the Role:  

Consunet is seeking an experienced bid submission expert to help drive the coordination of high-quality bid submissions. The role will be responsible for initiating a seamless bid submission process from end-to-end, assisting with improving the competitiveness of bid submissions, and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders to produce tailored proposals within time critical deadlines. 

Supported by our Customer Engagement Lead and executive leadership, the Bid Manager will have excellent attention to detail, as they coordinate and collate submission response content from various sections of the business. The Bid Manager will be responsible for preparing competitive and compelling bid submissions, ensuring each tender response complies with the values of the business and expectations of each relevant bid.

The Bid Manager will possess exceptional communication skills, as they frequently collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering beneficial ongoing relationships that enhance the growing trajectory of the business. The Bid Manager will be accountable for controlling the consistency, accuracy, and quality of each submission. Coordination is key, as the Bid Manager will be working alongside multiple cross-functional teams/leads from engineering, science, cyber, ICT, projects, and security disciplines. Each day will offer variety, accountability, and flexibility as you successfully grow the profitability of the business. 

Other key responsibilities include: 

• Developing, reviewing, and negotiating POC (pre-contract awards). 
• Supporting our Project Managers with the contract management process. 
• The creation, management, and preparation of sub-contracts.
• Coordinating agreements. 
• Contract risk identification, quantification, and coordination (in conjunction with Legal counsel). 
• ITAR/IP register maintenance.
• Critical success in securing competitive tender submission projects. 

  About You:  

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven experience working in and managing the bid submission process. Defence related bid submission experience will be highly regarded, candidates with other industry related bid submission experience will also be considered.

The following experience/qualities will be advantageous for this position:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or significant bid submissions experience, either working within the submission process or managing proposal development. 
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 
• Experience within the Defence Industry will be highly regarded. 
• Working knowledge of ASDEFCON. 
• Extensive experience preparing and coordinating tender responses or bid submission opportunities, including financials. 
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, and within a team environment. 
• Impeccable attention to detail, with a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to produce innovative solutions to complex problems. 
• Demonstrated ability to work in high pressure situations, managing multiple time-critical tasks. 
• Excellent ability to build rapport and foster ongoing relationships to help grow the business. 
• Adaptability, flexibility, and extensive coordination skills will be highly regarded. 
• An interest in technical-focused products and solutions. 
• Demonstrated experience developing and managing forecasts/budgets. 
• The successful candidate MUST be eligible to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Eligibility requirements:
