Operations Manager

Our client is a FCA regulated Insurance broking intermediary and are seeking an operations manager in their Surrey based company.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a regulated financial services environment or a similar insurance cover holder business, with a solid understanding of Conduct Risk. However a similar enviroment such a Contact Centre could also be appropriate. You should be a proactive individual ready to take on responsibilities. As a member of a focused senior management team, you will have the chance to shape and execute the company's business strategy.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • General Office Management: Oversee office operations and staff management.
  • Lloyd’s Binder Administration: Handle ongoing communication with the underwriter.
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Responsible for BACS, LAN, and the company’s administration database.
  • Claims Administration: Liaise between policyholders, brokers, and Lloyd’s underwriters.
  • Human Resources: Manage training, competence, and other HR policies.
  • Customer Communication: Oversee annual customer mailings, coordinate with the printing company, and secure regulatory approval.
  • Compliance Liaison: Work with the external Compliance function to monitor and implement compliance procedures, conduct monthly attestations, and support audits.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience

  • Proven experience in administration, operations, or compliance at a management level within an FCA and/or Lloyd's regulated environment.
  • Advanced skills and experience with Excel (or similar software) and data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of Conduct Risk and Treating Customers Fairly principles.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
