Project: Major £200 Million Civil Engineering Project
My Client is a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor with a reputation for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects to the highest standards. We are currently embarking on an exciting £200 million project based in Carlisle, and we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the commercial management of our major project in Carlisle. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of quantity surveying from inception through to completion, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Lead the commercial function for the £200 million project, ensuring effective financial management.
Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
Oversee the preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts.
Manage subcontractor procurement, including the preparation of tender documents and contract negotiation.
Conduct regular cost analysis and risk management assessments.
Prepare and present detailed cost reports and progress updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, as well as relevant legislation and regulations.
Resolve any contractual and commercial issues that arise.
Mentor and support junior quantity surveying staff.
Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders.Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years' experience in quantity surveying, with significant experience in large-scale civil engineering projects.
Proven track record of successfully managing major projects, ideally within the Tier 1 contractor environment.
Excellent knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly NEC and JCT.
Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness.
Proficient in relevant IT and quantity surveying software.Competitive salary and benefits package.
