Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Management: Oversee and manage all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring they are within the projected budget.
  • Financial Advisory: Provide financial and commercial advice to the project team, supporting cost-effective decision-making and project success.
  • Tender and Contract Preparation: Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, ensuring precision and thoroughness.
  • Cost Monitoring: Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle, proactively addressing potential issues.
  • Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks, protecting the project's financial integrity.
  • Subcontractor Management: Handle subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and company standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and quality standards, contributing to a safe and successful project environment.
Person Specification:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts is essential.
  • Previous experience working in Major Projects.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essential.
