Role overview

Events play a pivotal role in our marketing strategy at BSL Group, and we’re expanding our team. We're seeking an experienced Marketing Events Manager to define and execute our global events strategy.
The ideal candidate is a motivated team player with exceptional project management and organisational skills, ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As our Marketing Events Manager, you'll be integral to BSL’s marketing initiatives.
The successful candidate must be able to evidence ownership of both the planning and execution sides of high impact events, be an effective cross-functional operator, manage budget details, support the execution of tactics, activities, and other details.

Person Specification
  • Certification in event management or related field
  • Excellent project management skills with experience in planning and executing high-impact events.
  • Strong negotiation and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in managing budgets and delivering events within budget constraints.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and drive collaboration.
  • Experience in copywriting for various channels including email, web, social, and digital advertising.
  • Proficiency in managing Wordpress and utilising Marketing Automation platforms (preferably act-on) for event management.
  • Ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing techniques and channels.
  • Experience in campaign planning and execution across multiple platforms.
  • Proven record of using data-driven approaches to optimise marketing spend and demonstrate ROI.
  • Corporate event experience in Enterprise B2B Software or SaaS.
  • Familiarity with industry-leading conferences and events.
  • Understanding of global marketing activities and operational efficiencies.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and capable of autonomous work.
  • Well-organised, methodical, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Commitment to upholding the company's brand identity across all developed materials.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and improvement in event management and marketing strategies.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving industry trends and technologies.

Compensation:
Base Salary: £38K-43K
Performance Bonus / Commission: Company standard performance bonus

Key responsibilities
  • Managing and executing BSL Group’s presence at industry-leading conferences and self-produced events, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Identifying, prioritising, and qualifying industry events for the sales team's participation.
  • Project-managing events from start to finish, including production, timeline, budget management, venue selection, and vendor sourcing.
  • Driving our webinar content strategy and overseeing execution.
  • Coordinating with key stakeholders, partners, and third-party providers.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with various marketing and sales team members to ensure timely delivery of event assets (print, digital, content).
  • Maintaining and updating event displays and branding.
  • Overseeing events onsite and troubleshooting at conferences and self-produced events.
  • Negotiating sponsorship contracts.
  • Identifying, prioritising, and qualifying award opportunities.
  • Tracking and measuring event effectiveness against KPIs, ensuring alignment with sales and marketing objectives, and leading pre and post-event briefings and reporting.
  • Upholding the company's brand identity across all developed materials.
  • Improving operational efficiency of global marketing activities.
  • Copywriting for email, web, social, and digital advertising.
  • Creating email campaigns and landing pages.
  • Collaborating with the Marketing Executive to craft compelling social content.
  • Writing and coordinating copy and creative briefs for event collateral and onsite signage.
  • Attending regular meetings with internal stakeholders to review campaign performance and establish upcoming campaign schedules.
  • Preparing detailed campaign reports and post-event analyses with contextualised results and recommendations for future executions.
