Job Description

We are looking for a qualified and experienced counsellor to provide 1-2-1 therapeutic
interventions and counselling for young people aged between 11 and 25 through the 
Talk@HOME service as part of the HOME Wellbeing Programme.

You will have the following knowledge, experience, and skills: 
•A recognised Level 5 or above qualification in psychotherapy/counselling
•Current registration with appropriate professional body (BACP, NCPS, UKCP, HCPC)
•18 months post qualification experience of providing individual counselling to clients.
•Understanding the issues faced by young people/young adults experiencing poor mental health.
•Therapeutic models of psychotherapy (Integrative, Person Centered, Humanistic, Psychodynamic etc.) and how this can be used effectively to support children & young people’s mental health & wellbeing.
•Trauma informed practice.
•How to adapt counselling sessions to the needs of children and young people.
•Managing own caseload
•Managing risk and safeguarding legislation

This post will sit within the HOME team providing direct therapeutic interventions for young people through our Talk@HOME counselling service.
