Oswestry School is an independent, co-educational day & boarding school, with a 11-18 senior school of c.400 pupils (120 of whom board) and a 4-11 Prep School of c.120 pupils. The strong ethos of the school is reflected in its fabulous pastoral care and sense of community. Following the retirement of Claire Belk after nine years of outstanding leadership, Oswestry School is pleased to invite applicants to the role of Head of Prep for January 2025. We are seeking a dynamic, passionate and innovative leader with a clear vision for impactful education, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to building on the strong foundations already established at the Prep School.
The role includes responsibility for all aspects of the Prep School including strategy and development planning and the day to day running of the school. Reporting directly to the Headmaster, the Head of Prep is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and attends termly Governing Body meetings, with a healthy balance of autonomy and accountability.
With a strong reputation and profile as one of the hidden gems within Shropshire, this is a unique and exciting opportunity for a high-calibre individual to join a school with an exciting vision for the next chapter in its long and storied history.
