Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on leading the way on solving difficult engineering problems? Are you drawn to complex projects and excited by the opportunity to rapidly progress your technical leadership skills to the next level, heading up multi-disciplinary projects?

If so, you might enjoy solving the energy industry’s most important mechanical engineering conundrums for a multitude of energy systems across a variety of clients. You could be Managing exciting projects designing test rigs in support of the development of the UKs nuclear fusion capabilities, carrying out structural integrity assessment of primary plant (for both civil and defence applications) to keep existing fleet generating, designing high integrity structures for new nuclear establishments, or leading one of many renewable energy projects across a growing carbon net zero portfolio. You’re likely to be juggling several projects simultaneously, so enjoying being adaptable is a must The constant in this role is the complex nature of the jobs and the chance to provide innovative solutions to a range of problems for several appreciative clients.

Whichever energy-related projects you get involved in, you’ll be engaged in the development of engineering solutions to the industry’s most challenging problems, so you’ll be making an important and rewarding contribution to the energy and environmental security of the UK and beyond.

If you are a self-starter who can deliver multiple projects at the same time, working closely with clients and internal teams to capture requirements, set up projects and deliver right-first-time solutions for the most challenging problems in the energy industry, then we’d love you to apply.

You will bring sound commercial awareness when supervising those teams to effectively deliver tasks for multiple workstreams and to deliver to time, quality, and cost.

As an Engineer within our team, your work will be diverse and challenging and will include overseeing and checking of code compliant calculations, reviewing and approving technical documents, managing design activities and outputs (CAD designs and drawings), as well as liaising with the project manager and director in supporting commercial matters and bidding activities.

We achieve success by working in close partnership with our clients, by matching our skills to their needs, being flexible, and by using our resources efficiently. Whether we’re delivering high quality engineering and technical services or programme management, we always deliver the solution that’s right for them.

  • Proven track record of leading successful engineering projects with varying team sizes.
