About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our nuclear and clean energy teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring a mix of secure and sustainable energies that can meet our industry and lifestyle demands today and in the future.

As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and substantiating mechanical equipment and systems for various clients in the energy industry. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to capture requirements, set up projects, and deliver right-first-time solutions for the most challenging problems in the energy industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and substantiate mechanical equipment and systems for various clients in the energy industry.

  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in mechanical design and substantiation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification).
  • Experience in carrying out design or substantiation for new mechanical equipment or existing plant.
  • Experience in writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports.
  • Comfortable with engaging with existing and prospective clients, working at their sites, and investing time in understanding their issues, goals, and processes.
  • Experience in technical leadership and delivery accountability for mechanical engineering solutions.
