- Building devices, machinery and test systems
- Electrical wiring to schematics
- Mechanical build using hand-tools and possibly machine tools
- Debugging mechanical and electrical operation
- Informal testing to own initiative
- Contributing to generation of build documentation
- Continuous manufacturing process improvements
- Design and fabrication of assembly and test jigs
- Hands-on experience with products or instruments in an RandD setting
- At least level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification
- Confident and accurate written and verbal communication
- Confident using MS Office
- Expert user of hand tools, metrology and test instruments
- Expertise in the use of manual mill and lathe would be beneficial
