Ceema Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team as a Department Supervisor. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical fitting department, ensuring high-quality production deliverables, and leading a team of skilled technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department H&S - conduct regular work area checks to promote good housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment.
- Oversee machine build progress and ensure timely completion of production deliverables.
- Communicate and motivate the team to achieve production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
- Act as an educator, communicating expectations, processes, procedures, and quality standards to team members, including apprentices and new starters.
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork to achieve departmental objectives.
- Set high-quality expectations and upskill team members to improve overall department performance.
- Review shelf-life of adhesives and check stock levels of consumables, requesting purchases as needed.
- Work strategically with the production manager to update on successes, issues, concerns, and opportunities.
- Adhere to the procedures defined by the ISO9001 QA system.
Requirements:
- Apprenticeship-trained, City & Guilds, ONC, trade qualification, or equivalent.
- Strong experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
- Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Good communicator, friendly, and approachable disposition, with a logical and methodical approach.
Desirable Qualifications:
- CMI level 2 team leadership diploma or supervisor training courses.
- Basic/manual machining skills, including turning and milling.
- Electro-mechanical experience.
- Forklift counterbalance license.
- First Aid at Work Certificate.
