As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical fitting department, ensuring high-quality production deliverables, and leading a team of skilled technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department H&S - Conduct regular work area checks to promote good housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment.
- Oversee machine build progress and ensure timely completion of production deliverables.
- Communicate and motivate the team to achieve production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
- Act as an educator and mentor, providing guidance and support to apprentices and new starters.
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork among department members.
- Review and update shelf-life of adhesives and consumables, requesting purchases as needed.
- Work closely with the production manager to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency.
Requirements:
- Apprenticeship-trained or equivalent experience in mechanical fitting.
- Strong experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment, with a focus on quality and production.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Desirable qualifications include CMI level 2 team leadership diploma, basic manual machining, electro-mechanical experience, and forklift counterbalance license.
