The role

To support the finance department in maintaining accurate and timely financial records and reports, facilitating effective financial management and decision-making across the company. The role requires a proactive hands-on approach to various finance-related tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, management accounting and financial analysis, contributing to the overall operational efficiency of the finance team.
  • Ownership of sections of the Group’s monthly management accounts processes along with preparation of management accounts of certain subsidiaries.
  • Hands-on involvement in accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks, including raising sales invoices, processing purchase invoices, reconciliations, and any other tasks required to deal with peak workloads.
  • Ensuring adherence to finance policies, procedures and processes.
  • Monthly and ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions.
  • Assisting the Finance Managers with finance-related functions and duties, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Month-end balance sheet and control account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Involvement in the external audit, including preparation of deliverables and liaising directly with the auditors when required for their testing
  • Any ad-hoc reporting and duties which arise as part of the function of the finance department.
  • Providing holiday and sickness cover for finance colleagues to maintain overall operational effectiveness of the finance team.
  • Intermediate Excel user with the ability to use formulas to efficiently match, reconcile and analyse financial data
  • Comfortable working accurately to multiple deadlines
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently to multi-task and prioritise workload
  • Effective communication skills with stakeholders across the business
  • Accounting experience including:
    • Accounts receivable and/or accounts payable tasks and responsibilities;
    • Calculating and posting management accounting journals;
    • Experience using accounting software
