Overview

As an Avalara Software Sales Executive specialising in the EMEA Marketplace space, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of Avalara in the rapidly evolving world of tax and VAT compliance. Reporting to the Head of Global Marketplaces, you will be able to leverage your expertise in software sales and the marketplace domain. You will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and closing net new logo business opportunities with prospective clients across the region.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketplaces Expertise: Stay current with industry trends and regulations related to and transaction taxes, providing subject matter expertise to both prospects and colleagues.

  • New Business Development: Identify and target potential customers within the market, understanding their pain points, and presenting Avalara's solutions as the optimal choice for tax compliance.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a sales strategy tailored to the sector, leveraging Avalara's unique strengths and differentiators.
  • Solution Selling: Understand the complex needs of clients and tailor Avalara's software solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.
  • Quota Achievement: Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas, driving revenue growth for Avalara.
  • Sales Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including Sales Engineers, Product Specialists, and Customer Success, to ensure successful customer onboarding and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent.

Minimum of 4 years of successful software solutions selling experience, with a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas in the mid market/enterprise ecommerce. 

Ability to sell to Director and C-Level Executives.

Strong understanding and sales development/key account management experience in the ecommerce/marketplace space (B2B or B2C). Knowledge of related VAT compliance issues desirable.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills/business acumen. Strong entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to develop leads in a novel way.

Results-driven, resilient, self-motivated, and able to work independently and part of a cross-functional team.

Conversant with tech stack tools (Salesforce etc).
