Applicants are invited for 2 posts of Clinical fellow in Cardiology with training in general cardiology and basic subspecialty training (imaging, coronary angiogram, pacemaker and heart failure therapy) . The appointee will participate in the registrar of the week system for inpatients and be on call for cardiology including assisting at primary PCI. Our Cardiology unit is fully equipped to perform advanced angioplasty, Brady pacing & complex devices and imaging including complex echocardiography, CTCA and cardiac MRI. The post is suitable for those individuals who wish to gain more experience in cardiology to support their application for NTN or completion CESR. The post is based primarily at City Hospital, Birmingham. The Department has 14 full time Consultant Cardiologists and 2 Professors of Cardiology. a) General cardiology service -Registrar of Week, AMU referrals and review of cardiology patients on wards. 1 - 2 session's echocardiography (stress echo etc).
b) 1-2 session of supervised ECHO/TOE/Stress sessions
e) Participating in the overall care of cardiac in and out-patients (2 clinics per week).
h) To participate in the teaching program for medical students and junior doctors.

Basic Medical Qualification( e.g. CTCA level 2
Extensive experience completed in full time Cardiology training (or Equivalent)
Achieved competencies at completion of ST4+ level (or equivalent) in Cardiology

Ability to teach clinical skills to medical and nursing staff and other disciplines.
