The Virtual Learning Academy is looking for a Marketing and Business Support Modern Apprentice to join their new Inverness office. You will work with the Senior Management Team to provide a range of marketing and administrative tasks as needed. The duties and responsibilities listed below are not intended to be exhaustive and may be extended. The individual may also be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities that may assist with the smooth running of the Inverness office.
Business Support
- Answering the telephone and directing enquiries to the relevant staff member
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing post, including filing and company inbox
- Updating client spreadsheets and customer database
- Assisting with onboarding process
- Monitoring and ordering stationery supplies
- Assist with organising travel arrangements and team events
- Cover support for other team members.
- Assisting in the administration of our on line learning platform
Marketing Support
- Creation and scheduling of social media posts in line with VLA marketing strategy
- Ordering of marketing supplies
- Attending and representing the VLA at corporate events
- Assist in designing VLA brochures flyers and newsletter
- Creation of mailshots
- Updating Web Pages on VLA website
Personal Attributes

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive rather than reactive.
- Keep on top of workloads and deadlines and prioritisation of tasks.
- Be discreet and understand the importance of confidentiality.

- Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Benefits and Salary
37.5-hour working week with flexibility around the core hours of 10am-4pm
Salary – £14-£16K Dependant on age and experience
Holidays – 34 days including public holidays
3 Month probationary period.
