As an Innovation Analyst within Hangar 51's Rapid Development Team, you'll be instrumental in driving business impact through in-depth industry analysis and research.
In addition to your analytical duties, you will lead a small team producing high-quality insights and reports on innovation and technology topics in the world of aviation, positioning IAG as thought leaders in the aviation industry.
You will be responsible for authoring and coordinating the creation of white papers, industry articles, and other publications that showcase IAG's research and innovation capabilities.
Working closely with stakeholders within Innovation and AI.iag and across the organisation including CTO and CDIOs, you'll lead research initiatives, coordinate the IAG Research Hub, and promote best practices in research and design to drive innovation and business growth.

Industry Analysis and Research:
Taking input from the Innovation team and through collaborating with internal teams identify research priorities.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on key innovation topics and industry trends, turning the findings into actionable insights and reports, which you will create.
Lead customer and market research initiatives to uncover emerging opportunities and challenges, providing strategic guidance to support business decision-making.

IAG Hub and Publication Coordination:
Author and oversee the creation of white papers, industry articles, and other publications, ensuring high quality and relevance.
Coordinate the publication of articles on the IAG Research Hub, overseeing the production of high-quality reports delivered to a regular schedule.
Coordinate the implementation and evolution of the IAG Research Hub reflecting the values and image of IAG and the IAG Innovation team.

Promotion of Research and Design Practices:
~ Act as a catalyst for promoting research and design practices within the organization, fostering collaboration between research, design, and business teams.


Share knowledge and insights on customer behaviour and preferences to inform product development and innovation strategies.
Communicate and disseminate research findings and insights effectively to internal stakeholders, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Engage with external partners and industry stakeholders to exchange insights and contribute to thought leadership in the aviation innovation space.

Stay updated on industry trends, research methodologies, and best practices in innovation and design thinking, incorporating new insights into research approaches and strategies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the research function, exploring innovative techniques and tools to enhance research capabilities and deliverables.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
Proven experience in conducting industry analysis, market research, and competitive intelligence, preferably in the aviation or technology sector.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data and information into actionable insights and recommendations.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey research findings clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
Experience with research tools and methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative research techniques, survey design, and data analysis.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail and quality.The role is based in one of the airline Head Office locations in the Group, and travel to others will be required at times.
