An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the management team within the CWAMH Care Group at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a fixed term role for 14 months and secondment opportunities will be considered. (please ensure this has been discussed with your line manager before you apply).

The main purpose of the role is to provide operational support to the Care Group and its constituent clinical teams particularly in relation to: -

  • Day to day operational management and service improvement.
  • Information/data gathering and presentation of specialty level performance.
  • Supporting performance management and efficient delivery of services for patients.
  • Line management responsibilities.
Main duties of the job

The main duties/responsibilities for the role include:

  • Working with the Care Group management team, Trust support services/teams and clinical teams to oversee operational issues on a day to day basis.
  • Assist in the delivery of performance targets. Including waiting times, patient experience and activity.
  • To support the management team in providing effective two-way communication within the services.
  • Working closely with the Information and Performance teams to closely monitor activity and provide management information as required.
  • To liaise with staff at all levels within the department to ensure optimal use of our Community/Outpatient services, waiting lists, and referral priorities.
  • Working alongside the Clinical and Booking teams to ensure patients are on course to meet performance targets.
  • Analyse and resolve problems in the current systems and resolve these by implementing new systems.
  • Line managing specified members of staff.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training
  • Degree or proved graduate level ability or demonstrable equivalent level of experience
  • Evidence of on-going professional development
  • Qualification for Microsoft Office packages (ECDL or equivalent)
Experience
  • NHS operational experience
  • Working knowledge of hospital systems (e.g. PAS)
  • Experience of working and negotiating with colleagues at all levels
  • Experience of working within an NHS environment and planning healthcare services
  • Ability to use information/data to effectively support the improvement of performance and service delivery
  • Experience of managing, analysing and presenting information/data
Knowledge and skills
  • Evidence of excellent organisational skills, prioritisation and communication skills
  • Experience of being able to work as part of a team, whilst being able to work independently
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables
  • Proven track record of delivering and achieving targets
  • Experience of improving processes and systems
  • Awareness of SCFT Trust policies and procedures
  • Awareness of current NHS climate and developments
