The rotation receives excellent feedback from our current Band 6's such as:

We have a permanent full time position available, part-time applicants welcome too.


As an Acute Trust, you will be required to work regular weekends (currently, for full timestaff this is around 1 in 4 weekends - one day only). Respiratory on call duties will be expected, and adequate training to support you with this prior to going on the rota will be provided.

NUH is a large Acute Teaching Hospital and this post will allow you to work in many specialist areas with a huge variety of patients. You will be expected to work collaboratively across the MDT with a wide range of Health Care Professionals.


You will have a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload in what is a fast paced working environment. The post has a requirement that you manage and support Band 5's, Support Staff and Students on Clinical Placement allowing you to develop your leadership, managerial and teaching skills. You will need to lead the Team in the absence of the Band 7.


There is a requirement that you participate in weekend and emergency overnight on-call duties. The Physiotherapy service is part of the Therapies and Rehabilitation Services pathway, which is one of the pathways that together make up the Clinical Support Division at NUH. We are a diverse pathway of AHPs and support staff, employing over 700 staff, who works together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to. Our HCPC registered AHP professionals comprise of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists and speech and language therapists. There are also Practice Development Therapists to support career development for all.

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent core physiotherapy skills and a willingness to learn and develop further, both clinically and professionally. You will be working as part of multidisciplinary teams who will give support and training for you to develop in this role to reach your full potential. Training & Qualifications
BSc honours or equivalent in Physiotherapy
Evidence of post-graduate training in specialty.

Broad based junior rotational experience with an acute in-patient focus
Appraisal of performance.

Previous Band 6 Experience.
Experience of performance management.


Planning and organisation skills
Evidence of manual therapy skills.
Other requirements specific to the role (e.g. be able to drive or work shifts
