This is a new role at an exciting time for Macrobert. In May 2024, our new Artistic Director/CEO Ed Robson will join the organisation and Macrobert Arts Centre will continue as a Creative Scotland Regularly Funded Organisation up to March 2025. We have, with the support of our Interim Director Lucy Mason, submitted a Stage 2 Application to Creative Scotland’s Multi-Year Funding with the outcome expected in October 2024. In March 2024, our new Marketing & Communications Manager
joined the business with ambitions to rebuild and reinvigorate our marketing effort. Our new Marketing & Communications Officer will join a small but mighty existing team of three.

Hours: Full time 35 hrs p/w (including some evening/weekend working, as required)
Salary : £24,328
Location : Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week at Macrobert
Occasional travel to arts settings may be required
Holiday allowance: 30 days per year (Apr – Mar), including bank holidays
Key relationships: Macrobert Art Centre staff including, but not limited to, Management Team, Freelance Artists & Designers, Visiting Companies and Partner Organisations

Job Role and Description:

The purpose of this post is to contribute to the success of Macrobert Arts Centre through effective delivery of its marketing and communications needs. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager and the existing team, the Marketing and Communications Officer will; widely share information about our programme; create marketing materials in printed and digital formats; build engagement with current and potential customers; as well as collaborating with stakeholders and
colleagues to drive ticket sales and audience growth across all Macrobert Arts Centre’s programme areas.
You will work collaboratively with all members of the team to create and disseminate marketing collateral which promotes
Macrobert and its programme, including print and digital assets
and press releases.
You will have a flexible approach with an eagerness to collaborate with colleagues and professional partners.
You will have a warm and welcoming manner, strong interpersonal and communication skills, acting as first point of
contact for artists & visiting companies.
You will have a love of the arts and be keen to encourage people to engage with the arts. The Marketing and Communications Officer will need to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, in order to support events and projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

Principal areas of responsibility are as follows:
• Participating in the creation, implementation and review of comprehensive campaign plans for; live events, cinema, creative activities and development/fundraising programmes.
• Contributing to the development of ideas for the promotion of Macrobert and our programme of work.
• Generation of digital and printed marketing materials (visuals and text).
• Scheduling and delivering the dissemination of digital marketing materials.
• Management and distribution of a selection of printed marketing materials.
• Keeping all in-venue printed and digital information current.
• Regularly attending performances and events, connecting with customers and with programme content.
• Co-ordination of timely submissions from others who create and contribute to marketing materials.
• Preparation for and involvement in face-to-face promotional events.
• Being a point of contact for visiting companies, artists and film distributors, ensuring effective
delivery of their event campaign plans.
• Connecting with student groups to increase engagement with University of Stirling students.
• Working inclusively with colleagues across the organisation to increase promotion of our activity.
• Providing information and images to Macrobert’s PR agents and other external comms providers.
• Working to promote and protect Macrobert Art Centre’s brand.
• Being part of the GDPR User Group and a GDPR Champion for Macrobert.
