About the Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our development team to create and manage financial models and other information that support the development of new projects and monitor and improve performance of existing assets.

The role will involve

As Head of Financial Planning and Analysis your objective will be to manage information and modelling which ensures that AMP deploy decarbonisation projects that are successful in relation to both financial and operational performance as well as achieving the targeted carbon savings, other key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Developing financial models for new projects and technology solutions being taken forward by the development team
  • Analysis, Summary and Presentation of energy, carbon and technical data for new and existing projects to ensure project technical design and performance is based on robust data. This will involve working with energy consumption data and energy management systems as well as financial data
  • Developing and maintaining financial models to forecast and re-forecast asset performance or the performance of groups of companies
  • Analysing trends and variances to identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports, including the monthly management pack that flows from the overall model.
  • Providing insights and analysis to senior management on financial performance
  • Analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess the performance of different assets and business units and identify areas for improvement
  • Supporting management with the Mergers & Acquisitions opportunities which could include managing the due diligence process, undertaking commercial analysis, preparing an information memorandum and/or tailoring models for the opportunity.
What we are looking for

An individual with strong analytical skills, with a deep understanding of complex data sets of financial concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and performance analysis and who enjoys working in a dynamic environment. Our successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field i.e. ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified
  • Progressive experience in financial planning and analysis roles, preferably within the energy sector
  • Ability to interpret complex data, deriving actionable insights
  • Demonstratable experience of developing financial models for new projects
  • Experience in project development to support the delivery of energy projects including analysis of energy demand and carbon emissions
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems (e.g. Sage 200) and financial planning software
  • Strong financial modelling skills to identify trends, assess risks and opportunities, and to strategic decision making
  • Commercially minded and a critical thinker

Additional information
  • Location: Central Belt of Scotland
  • Competitive salary to be discussed at interview.
  • Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am -5.30pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch)
  • Hybrid Working, 2 days working from home to be agreed with line manager
  • Contract Type: Permanent
