**The Post**
Admissions & Access sits within the Directorate for Communications, Marketing and Recruitment (CMR) and provides a fully centralised, professional admission service, responsive to customers and stakeholders.

The primary objective of this new role is to work in collaboration with colleagues to provide leadership across all aspects of the Admissions process including providing advice and guidance to senior management to support the on-going development and future proofing of the University’s Admissions service. The post-holder will help identify and manage a programme of work designed to enhance the overall applicant experience, customer service standards and digital infrastructure, to ensure the University is able to meet both regulated and unregulated student intakes targets and deliver on the student recruitment ambitions as set out in the University Strategic Plan.

**Description of Duties**
- In collaboration with the Director of Admissions & Access, and Head of Admissions Operations, provide strategic leadership in all aspects of the University’s admissions process for undergraduate, postgraduate, research degrees, short courses, online, study abroad, TNE (Transnational Education) and Access to Degree programmes
- Work with the Head of Admissions Operations to plan, manage and review the UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) lifecycle
- Develop and deliver an exceptional, customer focussed end-to end applicant experience, informed by stakeholder feedback, applicant behaviour, and competitor bench-marking
- Deliver high quality management reporting, providing insight and guidance on sector developments to inform University strategy and decision making
- Horizon scan for opportunities and initiatives, including new product development and technologies, including engaging with relevant third-party suppliers
- Manage strategic systems developments, ensuring each admissions intake is responsive to market dynamics and University priorities, including the development of applicant portals, the use of machine-learning, and AI technologies
- Develop a strong culture of customer service within the team through regular meetings and performance review, identifying and addressing training requirements where necessary
- Work with INTO Stirling, our on-campus provider of academic and English pathway programmes to support and enhance the transition and joining experience from INTO pathways and Pre-Sessional English routes
- Work with the Director of Admissions & Access to develop strategic areas of Admissions & Access policy and practice, including those concerned with delivering on the University’s widening participation priorities
- Ensure Admissions processes and published information is compliant with the University Admissions Policy, the QAA Quality Code, UUK Code of Practice, GDPR, CMA and UKVI
- Be responsible for the management of a contingency plan to ensure business continuity
- Represent Admissions & Access and the University at internal and external committees and working groups
- Provide line management for the Head of Admissions Operations
- Deputise for the Director of Admissions & Access, as required

**Essential Criteria**
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Substantial experience of working in a senior position in a student recruitment and admissions environment, with a proven track-record of excellent service delivery and outcomes, responsive to customer needs and expectations
- Demonstrable knowledge of the higher education
- A proven ability to lead and motivate teams; a committed mentor, people developer and team builder with a confirmed capability to work effectively in a team-based organisation, collaborate cross-functionally and internationally, exercise influence at all levels and build alignment around a common vision
- A strategic thinker, able to demonstrate innovation and effectiveness in addressing challenges, combined with strong planning and implementation skills
- Proven ability to lead and manage change, engaging and motivating others to support new innovations and development
- Ability to network and build meaningful relationships with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, and to maintain strong working partnerships
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to synthesise, present and explain complex information clearly and accurately
- Excellent analytical and numeracy skills, with the ability to present insightful analysis, to inform policy and strategic decision-making
- Ability to research and solve complex problems using initiative and creativity, and identify practical and innovative solutions
