Contract Management Role

In this role you will be expected to undertake Contract Management activity for key contracts held within FCAS, based on their size, complexity or risk. You will oversee the management of the day-to-day delivery of key contracts within the business, ensuring the best outcomes are achieved from the commercial life cycle activities, being accountable to the Head of Contract Management and Assurance, and drawing on support from the wider Commercial team.

You will be contributing to delivering Commercial Excellence for FCAS, providing a customer focused service, understanding the business need and stakeholder drivers, with the aim of becoming a trusted commercial advisor. You will be required to work closely with colleagues across FCAS.

The role is varied, and to carry out successful contract management activity, you will work to mobilise contracts; manage the delivery and performance of the contracts; carry out contract variations; manage risk within the key contracts; and be responsible for major contract transition and exit.

This role is mainly dedicated to the oversight of contract management of strategic suppliers (e.g. UK Prime suppliers) although it will cover all contracts in scope. You will be expected to work autonomously to ensure effective stakeholder management and work within the commercial and wider FCAS governance processes and procedures. You will drive performance management, risk management, issues resolution, financial management, change control and overall contract and statutory compliance whilst being responsible for continuous improvement (service and value).

Assurance Role

In this role, you will lead the Assurance & Income Generation team supporting the Head of Contract Management & Assurance. You will be responsible for many aspects of the commercial controls (e.g. policy, legislation, governance procedures). You will be accountable for analysing, managing and reporting on commercial risk for any 3rdparty arrangements. You will also play a key role in the wider coordination and ownership of Commercial’s input into IP, owning key governance-related relationships (e.g. Programme Management), ensuring compliance with all relevant contracts and maintaining knowledge of all rules relating to and impacting commercial activity in FCAS.

In this role, you would be expected to deliver on:

  • Designing, implementing and leading a risk management strategy across the Commercial function
  • Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across the Commercial team, the wider FCAS Programme and outside of FCAS
  • Overall responsibility for commercial compliance across commercial activities
  • Ensuring management remain informed of regulatory, legislative and best practice changes and their obligations under these changes and how they impact the commercial services
  • Acting as a leader across the Commercial team, providing support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organisation.
