Overview Reporting into Simon Jaffery-Reed, our Chief Product Officer, as a Product Director at Chambers and Partners, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, value proposition, and strategy for our Legal Market Intelligence products. We are a global leader in legal directories and information services, conducting over 200,000 surveys and interviews annually to gain unique insights into the legal market.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Vision, Value Proposition, and Strategy: 

Collaborate with executive and senior leadership to create a compelling product vision, value proposition, and strategy aligned with the company's goal of becoming a provider of Legal Market Intelligence. 

Problem Definition and Structured Thinking: 

Synthesize insights to craft clear problem statements, articulating root causes in a structured manner and aligning teams effectively to solve them. 

Outcome Ownership: 

Align teams around specific outcomes and effectively prioritize initiatives across multiple dimensions. 

Establish an environment that enables the team to maximize their potential by providing context, clarity on goals, and supporting effective collaboration processes. 

Data Fluency: 

Drive a data and analytics culture within the product team, using data to generate actionable insights and connecting quantified goals to meaningful outcomes. 

Communication: 

Ensure transparent communication of the product vision, team strategy, initiatives, priorities, and progress to all stakeholders, including the wider commercial team. 

Stakeholder Management: 

Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, gathering input and ensuring they are well-informed to represent the product team in their respective areas. 

Voice of the Customer: 

Build empathy with customers through various research methods and leverage feedback to drive better decision-making and meaningful outcomes. 

Ownership of Product Area: 

Take ownership of a product area with multiple sub-products and features, overseeing the end-to-end product lifecycle. 

Interface with Engineering: 

Collaborate frequently with the engineering team to align with tech strategy, discuss architecture considerations, and work through trade-offs. 

Work closely with 2-3 product teams to drive the implementation of strategies and initiatives, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. 

Strategic Alignment: 

Align the 5-year strategy of the product with the overall company growth strategy, ensuring cohesive and synchronized growth. 

Product Leadership and Cultural Influence: 

Play a key role in the product leadership team, influencing the overall culture of the company by driving innovation, collaboration, and a product-centric mindset. 

Skills and Experience

Proven experience in product management with a focus on data-driven decision-making. 

Demonstrated ability to gather and synthesize various types of data for product roadmap decisions. 

Strong skills in developing, prioritizing, and communicating product roadmaps aligned with business objectives. 

Experience in leading teams through the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch. 

Proficient in Agile methodologies and frameworks. 

Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills. 

Strategic thinker with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results.
