We are looking for an Head Of Technical Production to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for Technical Event Production within The Collective. This is a new role and one for you to make your own with a view to building a wider technical team over the coming years.

A key part of the role will be operational delivery as in owning projects from concept to completion ranging across multiple delivery formats and industry sectors. These projects are likely to be our larger flagship projects with some budgets more than £3M spend. You will be required to spearhead these projects and offer knowledge and experience in delivering the best possible solution for our clients.

As Head Of Technical Production, you will:

  • Lead The Collectives technical solutions (concept, delivery, reconciliation) across Live, Virtual and Hybrid event delivery.
  • Be a subject matter expert for technical production (internal/external) solutions and support the wider team where appropriate.
  • Build out a wider technical supplier roster across all technical and scenic disciplines and own supplier relationships (including Technical Freelancers).
  • Be responsible for the technical supply chain across all projects with close attention to commercials and special rates.
  • Work with the Producers, Creative Studio & Experience Design teams to create technical solutions that return on our client’s objectives.
  • Advise on best use of event technology and lead on industry trends and innovation.
  • Regularly contribute to new business enquiries and form part of pitch delivery teams.
  • Have exceptional project management skills including budget & time management.
  • Challenge the normal and finding creative concepts to bring events to life.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to take control of client stakeholder planning meetings to ensure accurate comprehension of requirements.
  • Production management experience within an agency, AV house or freelance capacity.
  • Communication – listening, written and verbal - able to interpret our client’s objectives to be delivered into all aspects of their event.
  • Working with different stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Producing working documents for project teams and clients.
  • Large event delivery experience including hybrid, virtual and face to face events across the globe.
  • Ability to react, think on your feet, offer solutions, work on multiple projects and timelines at once.

You must also have:

  • Technical drawing capabilities in either AutoCAD or Vectorworks.
  • Health & safety management experience and accreditation is desired.

You should know:

  • This role offers hybrid working with 1-2 days a week spent in either our Derby or Milton Keynes office.
