Job Description

MM Search are delighted to be working retained on an Executive Director of Finance role with our client, Caledonia Housing Association.

The Executive Director of Finance is a senior role at Caledonia Housing Group and will be

responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of all aspects of finance and treasury

management, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organisation. The

Executive Director of Finance reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the

Caledonia Governing Body.

As a member of the Executive Management Team you will be responsible for developing

and implementing Financial and Treasury Management Strategy and Planning which will

support the development and achievement of the Caledonia Housing Group strategic and

financial objectives.

As an Executive Director, you will work closely with the Chief Executive and Governing

Body providing strategic financial advice and guidance, and you will deputise for the Chief

Executive as required.

The purpose of the role is to lead and manage the finance function of the Group. This

includes budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. You will have overall responsibility

for the management of the Group’s financial systems, processes and support, while

ensuring appropriate treasury and risk management is in place to deliver Group business

plans.

You will be required to build effective relationships with external stakeholders including

lenders, auditors and regulatory bodies. Internal stakeholders will include the CEO,

Governing Body, Executive Management Team and other department heads. This will

include providing financial advice and support to other departments to inform decision-

making and resource allocation.

You will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including ensuring he

Group’s accounts are prepared in compliance with SORP requirements and all necessary

financial returns are accurate and submitted timeously to regulators, lenders and others

who require the information.

You will lead the development of financial strategies, initiatives and interventions focussed

on growth and to deliver sustainable improvements to performance and business

development.

As part of the Executive Management Team you will lead by example, developing and

embedding a culture of collaboration and continuous learning, visibly championing

Caledonia values and providing a clear sense of direction for the future growth and

development of the Group.

You will be responsible for (non people): Budgets, KPI’s, Governance Budgets – £1.5m Financial covenants/KPI’s Business and financial plans, Risk Maps, Operational KPI’s, Department service standards Attendance at Board, Audit and Risk Management, sub groups Regulatory and good governance as well as Corporate compliance.

Essential Experience:

Demonstrable experience of operating at a senior level including:

· Experience of operating as part of an Executive management team

· Strong strategic leadership and ability to develop and implement financial strategies

aligned to organisational plans and objectives

· Proven experience in managing finance teams, including the ability to provide

guidance, coaching and performance feedback

· Proven experience of managing different functional areas and delivering improvement

and positive results

· Ensures efficient operation of treasury functions including funding, cash flow

management and financial reporting

· Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external

stakeholders

· Experience of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing audits

Experience Desirable

· Strategic financial leadership in a regulated sector

Qualifications and Knowledge Essential

· CCAB or equivalent qualified accountant with a proven track record of achievement

· Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of finance and related services

· Strong understanding of the operating environment and its impact
