We have partnered with a successful educational company in the Birmingham area who are looking for an enthusiastic Health and Safety Manager (NEBOSH Qualified) to be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety programs and policies across the campus.
This permanent, full-time position is based onsite at their open plan offices.
To be considered for the role of Health and Safety Manager you will require:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in a higher education or similar setting.
Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager Role:
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, county, and government regulations.
Ensure that health and safety policies are communicated effectively to all stakeholders.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits of campus facilities and operations.
Provide guidance and support to all departments in implementing health and safety practices.
Investigate health and safety incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Stay current with health and safety regulations and ensure campus compliance.
Promote and support environmental health initiatives and sustainability practices on campus.
