The Account Director provides strategic guidance in developing and leading tactical integrated marketing plans to clients. This role serves as an extension of the client brand team and day-to-day relationship lead, addressing concerns while identifying incremental opportunities. Directors are also accountable for counseling clients on effective marketing strategy based on research and best practices to meet brand objectives.
The Account Director owns the book of business and business growth efforts. Internally, the Account Director organizes, grows, and develops the team and externally ensures health in the client relationship in and beyond the assigned brand team.
As a full-service agency our Account Directors have to opportunity to lead/cooperate to a great variety of business areas including:
Global brand launches
Global & Regional brand management
Digital Transformation
Medical Communications and HCP support materials
Film, video and podcast creation
Onsite/Virtual/Hybrid Events & congresses
Digital Therapeutics
The Account Director participates in vision setting for the client business, ensuring the broader team executes it through to delivery of work;
Externally, the Director ensures health in the client relationship in and beyond the assigned brand team;
Account Directors oversee the delivery and financial impact on budget , and brand target goals and objectives with the client;
Learns new product and services features and benefits
Responds to complaints and manage issues to ensure customer success and satisfaction
Strong and applied understanding of strategic planning , brand planning, pharmaceutical product life cycle management, digital development, and processes
Demonstrates accuracy in reviewing PMO/junior team-developed scopes
Demonstrates accountability for financial tracking and management of client budgets and communicating with client teams and senior leadership
Owns and leads monthly budget reconciliation and forecasting efforts
Big picture thinker with an understanding of client business and long-term goals
Educated to a degree level - ideally in communication/marketing, economy, biology/pharmacy and/or other scientific pathway) / MA in business administration, sales, marketing or similar relevant field;
Account Directors have usually gained considerable previous agency experience, typically as an Account Manager and/ or Senior Account Manager.
