Advanced Innovative Engineering seeks a highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineer specialising in manufacturing to join our team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our Quality Management System (QMS) under AS9100D requirements. Responsibilities: Quality Management System (QMS): Supports the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100D standards. New Product Introduction (NPI): Coordinate and manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with suppliers, ensuring all approvals are current and met within milestone dates. Statistical Analysis: Utilise a thorough knowledge of statistical techniques, including root cause analysis, process capability studies, and gauge R&R to support and achieve quality objectives. Problem-Solving Techniques: Apply extensive knowledge of Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), 8D problem-solving methods, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) to implement effective problem-solving techniques for customers, internal teams, and suppliers. Manufacturing Support: Assist the manufacturing quality team by validating permanent actions and changes, reporting them to customers in the 8D format. Control Plans and Documentation: Prepare and implement detailed Control Plans (CPs), Work Instructions (W/Is), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure these documents are fully controlled and updated in line with configuration management, Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), and change management systems. Experience and Qualification Summary: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the aerospace industry Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field Experience in quality engineering and AS9100D implementation Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards Experience with internal auditing and non-conformance investigations Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Experience with supplier management is a plus Experience with aerospace regulations and standards is preferred Personal attributes: Highly self-motivated with excellent attention to detail. Strong team player with a proactive 'can-do' attitude. Meticulous in record-keeping and documentation. Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Hours and Environment: Thirty-eight hours a week, Monday to Thursday, 8.30 am to 5.30 pm (30-minute lunch), Friday, 8.30 am to 12.30 pm. 21 days plus statutory bank holidays Remuneration: The salary for this post will be commensurate with the capabilities and qualifications of the candidate.
