An exciting new opportunity as a Health & Safety Officer within Grimsby, on a full-time permanent basis has arisen. As Health & Safety Officer you will ensure everyone in the company complies with health and safety laws. You will also be responsible for driving health & safety performance across the business.
As a Health & Safety Officer you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards. You must also be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential.This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to develop in the role into the future Health & Safety Manager.
Key Duties include;
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health & safety management systems in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practicesConduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with applicable safety standardsProvide guidance and support to safety representatives, employees and management on health & safety mattersLiaise closely with the site management team, to ensure thorough investigation is carried out in line with employment law following any health concerns raisedEstablish and maintain strong reporting mechanisms to monitor and analyse safety performance dataCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver training programs and initiatives to promote a safety-conscious cultureInvestigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrenceDevelop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to effectively manage potential crises or disastersProactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive the implementation of effective safety and environmental initiativesMaintain accurate records and documentation related to health & safety activities.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience as a health & safety officer in a manufacturing environmentIn-depth knowledge of relevant health & safety regulations and standardsProfessional certifications in health & safety managementDevelopment and delivery of in-house health and safety trainingNEBOSH certificate (diploma preferred) in Occupational Safety and HealthProven knowledge and experience in BSI ISO45001 management and internal/external auditingProficiency in using safety management software and toolsCompetence in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
