Overall Purposes:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Course Leader for Business Management to oversee and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment for our Business Management programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire both students and faculty, driving academic success and ensuring that the curriculum remains current, innovative, and aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Course Leadership

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of Business Management courses, ensuring they meet the needs of students, employers, and academic benchmarks.
  • Monitor and enhance course performance, student engagement, and outcomes.
  • Provide academic leadership to teaching staff, promoting best practices in pedagogy and curriculum design.

Teaching and Learning

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences, employing innovative and inclusive methods to engage students.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess modules, providing constructive feedback to support student progression.
  • Foster an inspiring learning environment that encourages critical thinking and professional development.


Student Support

  • Act as a key point of contact for students, offering academic and pastoral guidance as needed.
  • Promote student participation and engagement in co-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
  • Monitor student attendance, progression, and achievement, addressing any areas of concern proactively.

Management and Administration

  • Coordinate timetables, resources, and staff schedules for the Business Management courses.
  • Lead team meetings, provide mentoring for staff, and contribute to staff appraisals.
  • Ensure effective communication between departments, stakeholders, and external partners.


Key Skills and Qualifications for Successful Applicant:

  • Qualifications at least to master’s level in the relevant subject area (e.g., business, entrepreneurship, strategy, marketing, finance etc.) and will ideally hold a PhD or be able to demonstrate equivalent high level professional experience in the discipline.
  • Teaching qualifications/accreditation: PGCHE, MA in HE Practice or FHEA etc.
  • Experience of working in the industry of your subject areas with extensive research works to the relevant fields.
  • Experience in developing and leading business-related courses in collaboration with industry partners.
