Role purpose


In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders and Delivery teams to identify Demand and help translate this into automation solutions while streamlining processes for greater efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional Development/Delivery teams to document end-to-end processes, capture requirements, and translate them into actionable user stories.


Key Responsibilities:


Process Mapping: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document existing and future processes. Create process maps to visualise workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business units to gather and document detailed requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs.

User Story Creation: Translate requirements into clear user stories with acceptance criteria and prioritise by business value and stakeholder input.

Stakeholder Management: Effective stakeholder engagement and communication to ensure alignment between business objectives and development activities. Act as the bridge between the business and the Delivery team, providing transparent and open communication channels.

Demand Mapping Workshops: lead and organise workshops to capture, understand, and prioritise business demand. Through these workshops, map the inputs, outputs, process work, and artefact creation for each stage, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of demand requirements.

Deputising for the Product Owner: In the absence of the Product Owner, step in and provide direction on their behalf, ensuring the demand continues progressing smoothly and in line with the initiative and Epic goals and definition of Done.

Demand Dissection and categorisation (Chunking): Responsible for breaking down the demand into manageable epics and then dividing them into features and user stories using the INVEST criteria (Independent, Negotiable, Valuable, Estimable, Small, and Testable). Ensure that the resulting user stories meet the required sprint goals and definition of Done, allowing for efficient sprint planning and development.

Product Vision: Working closely with Product Owners to ensure user stories align with the product vision and roadmap.

Acceptance Criteria and definition of done: Support the Product/Platform Owners in defining and validating acceptance criteria, ensuring that user stories have credible definitions of done.

User story creation continuous improvement: Collaborate closely with the delivery and business teams to ensure the seamless implementation of user stories. Consistently gather feedback from both parties to identify areas for continuous improvement and optimisation.


Key responsibilities & accountabilities


Skills, knowledge, or experience


Knowledge of Business process mapping, creating as-is and to be end-to-end process mapping.

Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Using Jira or ADO to create Epics and user stories.

Writing user stories from requirements provided by Stakeholders.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum, Kanban.

2+ years of experience as an Agile Business Analyst or similar role.
