As our Regional Processing Manager, you will be the driving force behind the success of our operations across a multi-site portfolio of four key locations. Leading a team of approximately 150 members, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring all plant operations within your region, ensuring the profitable performance of our UK business. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing the performance of our assets, ensuring that each branch in your region achieves its goals in customer service, operational delivery, and financial performance.

This is a highly demanding role requiring a multi-faceted, solution-focused operations professional with strong leadership capabilities. Your mission will be to coach plant processing teams, optimize their performance, and ensure that company standards, particularly regarding safety and compliance, are consistently upheld.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Operational Leadership: Oversee and support the management of all sites in your region, ensuring they operate safely, productively, and efficiently. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards in line with legislation, including engineering, H&S, maintenance, and site permit requirements.
  • Maintenance and Compliance: Lead maintenance teams to deliver proactive/preventative maintenance solutions and efficient reactive repairs. Ensure adherence to company standards, H&S regulations, and carry out regular audits.
  • Strategic Direction: Provide robust leadership and direction to ensure the seamless operation of the region. You will work closely with Plant Managers to identify opportunities for improvement and drive continuous enhancement in service delivery standards.
  • Financial and Business Planning: Manage regional expenditure and business planning, ensuring that financial budgets and capex requirements are controlled in accordance with Stericycle’s policies. Support site management teams in achieving financial goals, including cost control, AR functions, revenue, and profit.
  • Team Development: Provide clear direction and leadership to all team members, managing their performance and fostering a positive, high-performing culture. Identify talent within the team and support their development through structured plans that align with business needs and evolving technologies.
  • Operational Strategy: Influence and support the development of operational strategies and change initiatives, driving compliance and performance standards. Work closely with the Operations Leadership Team to prepare annual budgets and develop strategic plans.
  • Innovation and Technology: Continue to identify new technologies and automation projects that enhance efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness. Drive initiatives that align with Stericycle’s business transformation philosophy.


Key Competencies and Experience:


  • Experience: Proven experience in managing multi-site operations, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment. A strong track record in managing plant processes and teams across various expertise levels is essential.
  • Financial Acumen: Demonstrable experience managing a P&L, with the ability to review and analyse complex financial reports and data, generating innovative solutions and corrective action plans.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical background with engineering and systems awareness. Experience managing capital projects is preferred.
  • Health and Safety Leadership: A strong leader with a demonstrable commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently manage multiple projects and changing priorities
  • .Microsoft Office Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office, data entry, databases, spreadsheets, and statistical tools.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to deliver presentations with confidence and clarity.
  • Travel Requirements: A valid driving license is required, as frequent travel across the region will be necessary.
  • Coaching and Leadership: A strong coach and leader with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring the highest levels of productivity and efficiency.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiating skills to manage and influence stakeholders effectively.
