Optical Engineer


Role Overview

Join a dynamic deep-tech startup in Cambridge focused on cutting-edge optical solutions for AR/VR headsets and HUDs. As an Optical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing optical systems and components. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects and collaborate with a talented team to bring new optical technologies to market.


Key Responsibilities

You will design, optimize, and validate novel optical components and systems, carrying out tabletop optical experiments and testing designs. Your role will involve communicating and collaborating with internal teams, industry partners, suppliers, and customers, and contributing to patent and grant writing.


Requirements

  • Experience in table-top optical experiments.
  • Knowledge of geometrical and ray optics.
  • Proficiency in optical design tools, particularly Zemax.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
